Nassri v. Inland Dredging Co., 2013 WL 166211 (U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Louisiana, January 15, 2013). Action by maritime employee – not under Jones Act – but under Louisiana law of negligence and general maritime law. (Held that doctrine of The Louisana, 70 U.S. 164 (1865), gives rise to a presumption that operator of vessel that “breaks free of its moorings” and then collides with a “stationary object” was negligent in allowing that to happen.
